we were finally able to arranged a youth game East (KW) vs West (Windsor) the game was played at Waterloo park on August 26th 2006, the East (KW) won easily.
West made 89 runs in 20 overs the East made 91 in 8 overs for the west Priyam made 24 and Pratik made 31, for the east Abdullah made 46 not out, he also got 3 wickets.

SOCA Juniors loses nail biter game to OVCC Juniors by 13 runs
SOCA juniors hosted OVCC Juniors for OCA Junior Championship game at
After winning the toss OVCC elected to bat. After slow start(98/3 in 31 Overs), OVCC managed to pull 199 allout in 43.3 overs (101 runs in last 12.3 overs). All credit goes to brilliant knock by Mustafa Popalazi (96 runs 12 fours and 3 Sixes).
Under pressure SOCA, after shaky start (15/4) to excellent line and length bowling to Lohit (9-0-35-5), 16 year old Abdullaha took charge of the game and scored 79 runs (6 fours and 6 sixes), received excellent mentoring from Captain Mansoor ( 50 runs 4 Fours and a Six). Mansoor and Abdullah build a crucial partnership of 120 runs and brought back the game to SOCA.
After losing Abdullah and Mansoor, OVCC cam back to game. SOCA lost the wickets at regular interval and scored 186 all out in 38 overs.

Centurians CC, representing the Toronto & District Cricket Association defeated Adastrians CC from the Quebec Cricket Federation in a low-scoring finals played at G. Ross Lord Park on Sunday July 9 - Adastrians CC won the toss and elected to bat and were all out for 60 runs in 22 overs. Ahmed Sultan 22 runs. Qaiser Ali, the lone century-maker of the semi-finals could only muster 15 runs and took 1 wicket.
Bede Anandaappa took 4 wickets for 10 runs off 6 overs. Sutharshan Weersingham took 2 for 17 off 5, Sanjay Thuraisingham bowled 4 for 2 and took 1 wicket and Ravi Ravishankar took 1 for 2 off 3 overs.
Centurians CC responded with 62 runs in 10.4 overs. Openers Sanjay Thuraisingham and Siva Jayarajalingam, the latter caught in slips for 6 runs in the sixth over. Sanjay 37 not out (included 4 massive sixes) and Captain Pubudu Dassanayake 12 not out.
The match officials were Ken Shanthikumar and Fred Lew-a-king, umpires and Petra Pompey, scorer.

Today was indeed a lovely day for cricket in 2006 JRR Eastern Canada Club Champions Tournament semi-finals match played earlier today and hosted by the ONTARIO CRICKET ASSOCIATION was almost a nail-biter - Adastrians CC ( Cavaliers CC responded with 234 all out in 47.4 overs giving the truly earned win to Adastrians by only 19 runs. The veteran Ahmed Sultan took 4 wickets off 10 overs for 54 runs. Cavaliers CC Captain, Curtis Springer 55 minute trip to the wicket was very entertaining for his total of 53 runs, he also took 2 wickets and Pedro Depeiza made 60. The officials were Arnold Ramanjulu and Mike Henry, umpires and Petra Pompey, scorer.

SOCA in the Spotlight
The Southern Ontario Cricket Association (SOCA) was recently recognized by the Ontario Cricket Association (OCA), the umbrella organization for cricket leagues in
Ontario for hosting the 2006 Atholstan trophy. The very first time that the trophy games were played in
Southern Ontario . These games took place on June 10 & 11 in the
Waterloo region.
The Seniors game was a two day game against
Quebec ; which OCA easily won. This game was played at
Waterloo
Park . The Juniors games were two one day games against the
Quebec Juniors both won by OCA. These games were played at the Cambridge Cricket Ground.
Congratulations to our representatives Jaspal Rana and Richie Anand who played key roles in the OCA Seniors victories. A special thank you to the Waterloo-Sunrise Cricket Club and Cambridge Cricket Club for agreeing to host the games on their grounds. A big thank you to our secretary Yogesh Shah who work closely with Petra Pompey (OCA secretary) to help make the event a success for SOCA and OCA.

Key Decisions made during Spring AGM and Reminders for some of the new teams to SOCA:- Umpiring Fees have been increased from $40 to $50 for two umpires and From $25 to $30 for One Umpire. Fees should be paid before the toss is being made.
- Umpiring Clinic will be held in KW area on May 6/7. Efforts will be made to plan future clinic in Windsor
- 30 Yard circle rule is applicable to all games. 10 overs field restriction for 40 and 45 over games and 15 overs field restriction for 50 over games
- Associate member fees would be $150 (For London and Sarnia)
- Scores, results and Umpiring complaint need to be submitted by the Wednesday after the game is over. Both teams should submit the score in order to resolve incomplete scores.
- Once the Final schedule is published, teams are responsible to for any changes and both teams need to agree.
- Umpires and Players code of ethics to be followed strictly
- Any cancellation of games needs to be communicated to Umpiring Co-ordinator, Scheduled Umpires and SOCA Secretary as soon as possible.
- OCA U19 Championship will be a new tournament, Please register your juniors to SOCA for selection. (Juniors are born after 1 Sept 1987)
- All Players need to be registered to SOCA before they play a game, I believe the deadline is Wednesday before the game (Including the 12th Man)
- Player needs to play four league games for a team in order to represent a team for any Playoff game
- All league games are 40 Overs and start a 1.00 pm. Toss at 12.45 pm
